AGS offers high accuracy utility locating mapping and services. These services are performed by trained and experienced Geophysicists – not service technicians. This sets AGS apart from many businesses that offer similar services in the environmental, engineering, and construction industries. AGS personnel have detailed knowledge of the equipment used in the field, and how that equipment can be best utilized to meet client objectives. Our consultants are continuously introduced to new settings, and are highly familiar with performing utility locating and mapping services under many different site conditions.

AGS typically uses the following  instrumentation for utility locating and mapping applications:

Utility Locating:

  • Radiofrequency (RF)  device and Transmitter
  • Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
  • M-Scope
  • Multiple methods to mark utilities on site (e.g. spray paint, pin flags, chalk, or carpenters crayons) and are chosen for site specific conditions, or as required by the client

Utility Mapping:

  • Trimble Pro SRX Global Positioning System
  • Geonics EM31 Frequency Domain System
  • Geonics EM61 Time Domain System
  • Radiofrequency detection instrument (RF) and Transmitter
  • Ground Penetrating Radar
  • M-Scope

AGS utilizes these methods in order to provide our clients with the best possible results, while ensuring that the most thorough and complete geophysical investigation is being conducted. There are many ways in which the above geophysical instruments can be utilized, and AGS has the ability to identify the most effective way to meet the objectives of a survey while using these instruments in varying environments.
